Does This Really
Work?
Solid Proof of the ability of this product is easy to
hear in this simple test
Remove the counterhoop from your drum and freely spin
your new or used head on the edges of the drum and listen
carefully. Do you hear that wispy dry noise. Glide eliminates
this friction noise which is the sound of resistance to the
heads full ability to seat and reposition its self on the edge. A
wider and more range of stable tunings open up with properly
treated edges! Again The noise you hear is friction from
resistance of motion generated at the contact point of the
head and drum shell edge. Even the finest edges will have a
good deal of this sound. This is the same point of contact that
creates your drums sound!
Regardless of which way you spin or slide the head across
the edge this sound is obvious And is generated the same
point in which you tune therefore this sound becomes part of
your sound.. Now apply Glide as directed and try this same
test.. gone!
I told you! Hurry dress all your edges It really does work!
The effect is the same on all moving components and as it is
all natural also makes a great hand conditioner!
How to
Use:
** A good bearing edge is the fundamental
core of shell and head contact resulting in
your drums voice
A quality drum should have good edges
which Lay flat on a true level surface
If you're dissatisfied with the sound of a
drum or thinking it could, should
or had sounded better, get a  good drum
technician to have a look at the bearing
edges
as even a small edge service fee is minimal
investment for  yielding better sound. Drop
me a note if you need service and I will
either try to fit you into my shop schedule
or point you in the direction of someone
local to your area

Glide Bearing Edge Wax & Lubricant
Glide

Actual Application
3.
Put a small amount of wax on a a small piece of leather, cloth or other applicator and Rub
lightly around the drum shell's bearing edge. Due to the nature of this formula there is no
more "candle rubbing"  or forcefully grinding Hard Beeswax onto the edge this soft, buttery
wax  rubs right on for an ultra clean and level coating and it even performs well for
your metal shell snares.
Also works well on Unfinished sometimes raised or open grain edges as well without the
"caking" some Gretsch owners may be unhappily familiar with when waxing a 50's or 60's edge.
3a. Glide can also be applied with a fingertip by applying lightly to the inside seating area of the head
1. Remove Head and perform visual and physical examination.
Check the inside of the collar for any tears or odd ridges
Also check the range of variants in distance between the pressed out edge area on the head and its
distance from the head metal hoop Any Large Variant may be a sign of an out of round hoop
2. Look for any dings dents or other signs of wear on the bearing edge.
( see additional comment below **)
Run you finger along the edge and discrepancies in its level edge can be felt.
Assuming the edge is fine wipe it clean of any dust or that magic lint build up that
creeps in through vent holes.

2a. As for any drum, while you have the heads removed Check for loose Lug, Muffler or
Mount screws. This is also a good time to check your hoop to assure it is "In Round"
providing a  much better base for stable tuning

2b.It's Always Best to Clean the drums tension rods whenever possible along
     with your head change.
A soft Bristle tooth brush and some dish detergent will remove a whole lot of gunk that
has been pressed into the threads over time or prevent such from every happening.
This same process is applicable for throw off and Muffler tension controls.
For extreme cases where your lug inserts are also grimy a small pipe cleaner can be used to
rid the insert of gunk. These steps are really worth doing to increase the overall performance.
